Southampton Passion 2011 at Guildhall Square followed by Hoglands Park, Southampton (By Debenhams)

April 22, 2011 all day
On Good Friday, 2006 the City of Manchester staged an amazing outdoor Passion play that used the music of the great city to tell the story of the last days of the life of Jesus. It was broadcast on BBC three and boasted some popular actors in its cast. On Good Friday, 2008 the city of Winchester was host to an equally remarkable Passion production, using various locations across the city and ending up at the great Cathedral for the final scenes. Keith Brand replied to Ian Ward's discussion 'Bitterne Forum costs'
I know that the Forum is very much under used, but at times it is very useful. So I would like to see it kept. If we all paid £1 a year the surplus could be used as a donation to Namalemba which would help them and would be a thank you to Ian…

Bitterne Namalemba Link 20th Anniversary

It's the 20th anniversary of Bitterne's link with Namalemba and Bumoozi this year. In June 1990 Jeff Watson, Joan Cross & Joan Holt were the first Bitterne visitors to Namalemba. We thought it would be a great idea to celebrate with a party for everyone who has visited Namalemba or has contributed to our link, either with gifts or financially.

The great thing is we are expecting to have 6 visitors from Namalemba to Bitterne in June this year, 2010, so we plan to have the… Continue

'Deaconess Doris' - Rev Doris Fearon

For those who remember, 'Deaconess Doris' was a trailblazer! We've just had the sad news that she has died aged 84 in Auckland NZ.

Eventually she was ordained as the Rev Doris Fearon, but in those days we knew her as 'Deaconess Doris' because that's all she could be back then. She bustled around the place, busying herself with her ministry, and she was a real blessing to loads… Continue

Jonathan Byansi

It is with great sadness that we bring news of the death, on 12th November 2009 after a long illness, of our friend and partner Jonathan Byansi, Founder Chairman of the Namalemba Development Committee who was responsible for starting the Bitterne Partnership. His burial took place on 15th November 2009 in Butongole, and was attended by about 2000 people. He was buried at the family home beside his first wife Tolofisa. The event was attended by Ian… Continue
