The Anglican and Methodist Churches of Bitterne, Southampton England together form a 'Local Ecumenical Partnership' or 'LEP'.

The 'formal' bit ... sorry.

The views expressed here are those of the people contributing to it and do not necessarily represent the views of the Bitterne partnership of churches. It does not provide any official function and therefore any formal contact must be made directly to the staff team.

The Forum is intended to support the community of Bitterne churches and anyone interested in taking a constructive part in our community.

We love to read interesting and engaging stuff, basically things that 'build the church'. And please be aware of issues of privacy and common sense in a relatively public space - especially regarding photos.

And there is no copyright protection on material shown here, so just assume it's for 'sharing'! However if you do use someone's stuff please check with the copyright owner first - it's just common courtesy!

You must agree though that it's a great way to stay connected - so enjoy ...

Daves Big Adventure #1

A very apt name for my first blog post I think.

So this is me starting the process that is keeping in touch with all you lovely people. First off, a massive thank you for the support I have been given, in kind words, in offers of prayer, in well wishes and in sponsorship for the year. It has touched me so deeply that so many people care about what I’m doing. I’m just this guy with a dream. And it’s through all of you that this dream can become reality. Of course it’s not exactly an unguided dre… Continue

Baby news

I'm please to say I have just arrived home from hospital after giving birth to Owen George Proctor on Wednesday 4th June at 2116. He weighed a wee 6lb 9oz (Callum was 7lb 15oz!) and apart from a couple of things, is doing well.

RSS Feeds

Happy Bank Holiday! I've added a couple of RSS feeds which might interest you on the Right Hand Side of the Home Page of the Forum. Also I came across the Tearfund Podcast, which I thought might be interesting - I'll let you be the judge! If you like either of them subscribe to them yourself because I'll take them off here in due course and add something else to amuse you. An… Continue

The discussion titled Logos rather got out of hand, both in length and content (for which I take all the blame and unreservedly apologise). We are unable to selectively remove posts so I had to rem...

Logos - What are they? The obvious one to me is the panda which is used by the Wild Life Fund, or the daffodil used by Marie Curie Cancer Care. I also think of logos as the snappy saying used by ad...
